A fantastic printer

A fantastic printer
In the early 80-s a printer was very expensive.
I had to build my own!
At the the picture you can see a great construction made of a lot of solenoids.
Each solenoid can press down a key on an old IBM electrical typewriter.
Unfortunately I have no picture left of the typewriter.
But it was working quite nice!

Relays for the solenoids
To control the solenoids it was neccessary to use relays.
At the picture you can see the relays and the encoding circuits.
The printer driver was software written in 6502 machine-code.

Printing sample.
6502 machine-code.
Notice the misprinting on rows 10-12.
The printer has missed the first figures in the adress.
It was possible to adjust the
printing speed and if it was too
high the figures could be lost.
